Rewards and Recognitions

I am very proud to work for a company, that not only allows me to conduct this business around my family life and career but also gives rewards and recognitions, to their sales force on the ground.

We recently had our annual (virtual) conference and I was awarded the following accolades:

Consistency Award

The consistency award recognises one sale a month over a period of time. This award was launched 3-years ago, so I’ve been marked as someone who has been consistent for over 36-months.

As an Advisor and Team Leader, it’s one I strive for myself and also encourage my entire team to achieve.

Someone who is consistent always behaves in the same way has the same attitudes towards people or things or achieves the same level of success in something. One sale a month means that the business is viable and the time we take investing in our business activity reaps rewards.

As a Team Leader, I need to make 3 sales to keep my Team Leader status, but what I try and set my team is the aspirational goal of one sale as the first step each month to their business.

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.

Tony Robbins

Diamond Team Leader

Diamond status was also launched 3-years ago, and I’m delighted to keep my diamond status this year.  Diamond status Advisors enjoy a higher income plan when they achieve 70+ sales in a calendar year from January-December.

When initially launched in September 2018 for the following year, I made my 70th sale on 31st December 2018, by the skin of my teeth. In 2019, I achieve 70 sales by October and last year by August.

I can see my own success mirrored by other Advisors in the UK as Thermomix awareness grows in the UK. In the first year, only 15 UK Advisors achieved diamond status. This went up to 85 the following year and 150 in 2020.

I have been in this business since 2009, when hardly anyone in the UK had heard of Thermomix and when there were so few Advisors on the ground, we were just known by our names. As the years have gone by, this hobby has turned into a passion into a viable business. I have seen 2 new Thermomix launched;  the Thermomix TM5 and TM6 and accessories such as the Thermomix Friend released. I have seen our company grow from a small, family-run subsidiary to being 100% owned subsidiary of Vorwerk with 16 branch offices and over 2,000 Advisors.

And yet, there’s more to come. Lots more for Thermomix and Vorwerk in the UK to strive for. We only have 1% awareness in the UK, so you can imagine even if we double, triple, quadruple over business over the next 3-5 years, there’s a whole load of customers still to reach.

Level 6 Achiever Award

And finally, I achieved the Level 6 Achiever Award for 500 sales and 20 recruits. This level was started way back in September 2014 when the Thermomix TM5 was launched, so that is 500 sales of both Thermomix TM5 and Thermomix TM6s, plus 20 qualified, new recruits to the business.

I’m most proud of this recruitment record. That means I have personally helped twenty people into this business, giving them the opportunity to earn their own Thermomix by enrolling in the earn and demonstrate program. Many of these Advisors have gone on to earn their Thermomix TM5 with 4 sales and then have a viable business; many went onto earn their Thermomix TM6s too when that was launched in 2019. It’s a true honour bringing new team members into the business and showing them that the sky is the limit. As self-employed Thermomix Advisors, we don’t have any minimum job criteria such as in a degree or minimum GCSE or A-Level requirements, 1-2 years of sales experience, or language pre-requisites. All we ask is that the person, male or female is aged over 18-years old and puts in time and effort into their Thermomix business. We provide the training and support and then the sky is the limit.

To end this post, with a final thank you. To you. My customers. My potential customers. My referrals. None of this would be possible with all of you amazing customers. Thank you.

You are the heart and soul of my business. Simply speaking, there would be no me without you. Your loyalty means everything to me. Thank you for being a customer!

First recipes to make in your Thermomix

So you’ve just purchased your Thermomix and with Cookidoo at your fingertips, here’s my top 5 first recipes to make in your Thermomix in your first few days.

  1. bluebird-provisions-CjmlUpo3eAw-unsplashVegetable Stock Paste  Ever wanted to make your own vegetable stock!? Well, now you can — no hidden ingredients, no additives, just delicious. This makes a great starter for soups, curries, stews, pot pies, and for adding flavour to grains while they cook. Even better, I love to use whatever vegetables are in the bottom of my fridge draw or when you are a seasoned Thermomix user, you will have a bag of vegetable scraps and peelings in the freezer ready to go. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r39219
  2. Banana bread Moist and delicious banana bread recipe. Easy to make, this is the perfect first cake to make in your Thermomix  Ripe bananas, butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, and flour. https://onegirlandherthermie.co.uk/hummingbird-bakery-banana-bread/
  3. Risotto Risotto is a northern Italian rice dish cooked with broth until it reaches a creamy consistency. The broth can be derived from meat, fish, or vegetables. Many types of risotto contain butter, onion, white wine, and parmesan cheese. It is one of the most common ways of cooking rice in Italy. There are hundreds of risotto recipes on Cookidoo but this Courgette and Feta Risotto is among my favourite recipes for two reasons, hiding vegetables in food that my kids would never eat. They dislike courgettes, yet in this recipe  it’s so delicious, that they don’t even know what they are eating. And for adults and parents out there,  this is a winner. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r128889
  4. vita-marija-murenaite-eSeo6IzOV00-unsplashPizza The reason I choose this as it’s another meal that’s super easy in the Thermomix and can be adjusted to all taste buds. Pizza Margherita is a typical Neapolitan pizza, made with San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, salt and extra-virgin olive oil. Everyone loves a staple pizza and if you are more adventurous just add the various toppings you prefer. Everyone is happy. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r39452
  5. Frozen strawberry daiquiri I’ll always remember doing a demonstration to clients who were gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free. I spent most of the demonstration talking about the health benefits of the Thermomix and how it could help their healthy-eating lifestyle. I’ll always remember the first recipe they made, daiquiris. So I include it here a great final choice, why not, it makes a fabulous cocktail too. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r126704
Whatever you make, I do hope you enjoy your first few days with your latest gadget. Do drop me note to let me know what you’ve been cooking in the comments section below.

Thermomix Offers – 2020 Q4

I always believe that the Thermomix is the real deal, and anything else is just extra, but for completeness and transparency, here are the Thermomix offers for 2020 Q4 from September to December.

December 2020:

Bundle of Festivity – buy a Thermomix TM6 and get a Thermoserver, Christmas Apron, and ‘A Very Thermomix Christmas’ for an extra £20.

So our Thermomix TM6 remained at £1149, but you were paying an extra £20 for the bundle. This was a very popular offer as the Thermoserver is fabulous and that in itself has been requested by customers many times. We were so happy to offer this bundle as a seasonal offer.

Black Friday 2020TM6 Bundle

For Black Friday, Vorwerk UK had a bundle of the Thermomix TM6/ Thermomix TM5 for £1599.

A fabulous deal for anyone who was gifting a Thermomix as a present (which many of you did) or keeping one for their main house and taking a second to their second/ holiday home.

So our Thermomix TM6 remained at £1149 with the Thermomix TM5 costing £450. The Thermomix TM5 was only sold for a 2-week period and was never available on its own. We only ever sell the latest and current model. I’ll be honest, we had TM5s lying around in the warehouse and we wanted to sell them on and this was a good time to do it. Vorwerk got rid of their stock and many, many customers took advantage of our class digital model at a substantially reduced price. As soon as the Black Friday offer was over, it was over.

October/ November 2020:

Rockstars – we introduced our Stoneware Collection and our offers were various different packages of the Stoneware collection. You could take the Ultimate Bundle which retailed at £1284 which included all 4 Rockstars and the Betty (£85), our most expensive stoneware casserole dish was free.

Other options included Starter Kits (Paul and Anna), and 10% off individual stoneware.

So our Thermomix TM6 remained at £1149, but you were paying an extra for Rockstars which were discounted.

September 20200% finance

Thermomix TM6 at £1149 on a zero-percent interest offer which worked out at £95.75 per month.

Again, the Thermomix TM6 remained at £1149.

We offer finance options all the time, usually 9.9% with Ikano bank. Customers can choose 12, 24, or 36-month options and it works out at around £5 a month extra. But when we have a zero-percent offer, it’s a great way to spread the cost of the Thermomix out with no interest charges and it’s a high sales month for us as a result.

Social Media Plan for 2021

With people across the globe practicing social distancing — or in some cases, on a national lockdown, we’re in Tier 4 again in London — and I’m stranded in Goa until the borders open between UK and India, traditional media channels that have taken a bit of a hit. Subsequently, there has been a huge spike in people spending time online — reading the news and using social media platforms.

I’m so fortunate that during 2020, Vorwerk offered us social media training for any Advisor and Team Leader who wanted to partake in it – all 30 hours cover Facebook, Instagram, and content by Lisbon Digital School. I’m not sure if it was the soothing voice of Paulo Rossas who personalised the Complete Digital Marketing Program to Thermomix UK and Ireland, but I learned so much from it.

How has online behaviour changed since the talks of a lockdown?

According to ComScore, the number of minutes spent by readers on news sites has increased by 46% in the same period last year. And since people can’t hang out with their friends in real life, they’re connecting virtually — on every platform possible.

It’s not only Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram seeing increased traffic — Zoom and Skype user numbers have skyrocketed since the global pandemic began.

What is most interesting about this perhaps, is to consider how these behavioural changes are likely to shape the future of our world, not just now but in the future too. Undoubtedly, we’ll see more businesses offering remote working opportunities, but we’re also likely to see people utilizing more online communication channels to stay in touch with their teams.

Why is social media usage increasing?

The most obvious reason for the rise in social usage is the fact that people are social creatures by nature. Whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert, after a couple of days of self-isolation, you’re likely to miss your friends or colleagues.

The gap that is left from the lack of social interaction with social communities is significant, and social media offers a way to fill this void. The global pandemic has left most people feeling anxious and looking for support amid the ongoing uncertainty — and as such, people need to feel connected more than ever before.

To stay connected, albeit virtually, video interaction is on the rise. In particular, the rise of traditionally social, external events being streamed online. From business conferences to DJ sets — you can stream just about anything today. We went overnight from offering face-to-face demonstrations in people’s homes to virtual cooking experiences via video calls. I was hesitant at first but it’s been a huge success.

How has the value of social media has changed?

Social media has always been the place where people talk, but with people being isolated, it has become the only place people talk. Because of this, it is undoubtedly the most important channel for brands to focus on right now.

With people spending more time online, social platforms are the perfect place for brands to connect with their audiences. There has never been a better time to spend time on building relationships with my audience and giving them more of what you want. More themed content.

To do this, I have revised my social media marketing plan for 2021. Instead of simply posting what I am cooking each day, I’ll be a little more creative.

To do this, One Girl Social Media plan includes:

  • New and different content on Instagram and Facebook. So no more posting from one platform to the other. The photos and content will be the same theme but slightly different, so you will want to be on both.
  • Weekly content themes – I have previously struggled to define my niche purely because it’s diverse. I am an Indian married to a Pole who has lived and traveled to many countries and eats many cuisines. I am a mother with young kids, so am always cooking child-friendly meals for the whole family instead of just what I would choose to eat if I didn’t have kids. I like fine dining but love street food too. I’m a non-vegetarian but would like to eat more vegan and vegetarian meals for my own fortysomething health goals. So it’s been hard to narrow this down to a handful of topics but I think I have managed it.
    • Meatless Mondays (vegan and vegetarian recipes, plant-based diets)
    • Workout Wednesdays (healthy lifestyle recipes for  detoxing, good gut health, and weight management)
    • Friday Indian Fakeaway (Indian food, converted to the Thermomix)
    • Weekend World Wonders (everything else from converted Japanese favourites to celebrity chefs I love and follow such as Yotam Ottolenghi,  Ferran Adria, and Wolfgang Puck, who is a huge fan of Thermomix.

I really hope that my readers do like and appreciate the new content. I’d really like you to be engaged, like, and give me comments and feedback as soon as possible.

And while One Girl in the Mix accounts will be streamlined to this new type of content, I’ve created a new feed, WhatAnkitaAte to show you what I’m also eating during 2021.

Here’s wishing you the gift of prosperity throughout 2021. Thank you for being a supportive client to my small business Your support has always helped us grow. We wish you a happy new year.

Thermomix to the rescue – second lockdown

Whether you are a home cook or an experienced chef in the kitchen, we are all cooking far more than at home. We know meal times bring people together (especially in lockdown) but the act of feeding may have become an inconvenience rather than a way to relax and unwind. So why make life harder for yourself, Thermomix to the rescue.

I love to cook, it’s how I initially bought a Thermomix and why I became an Advisor. To share my love of food and cooking and how easy it can be with this kitchen robot. But my last 12-years in this business has shown me how different people have different reasons for purchasing a Thermomix.

Some love cooking, like me. Some hate it. Some want to be more creative in the kitchen. Some want time savings or cost savings. Others simply want to increase their knowledge in the kitchen. Most bought for a reason that was more emotive than practical.

But wow how things have changed. COVID 19 and the first lockdown was hard enough. Having to cook three meals a day, every day while keeping the menu exciting, nutritious, and delicious – who would have thought that would even be a thing?! and yet it is so important to support our own, and our families, physical and mental wellbeing. Which is a thing, a big thing in today’s world.

The beauty of a Thermomix is that it is a smarter way, to cook and meal plan. People are just realising this but some of us have known this secret for a while.

Thermomix changes you. A Thermomix changes the way one cooks and plans. I always thought we had a balanced diet (I’m a slight control freak with nutrition) until I realised we were heavy on chicken, minced beef, and salmon (I’m a mother to young kids, remember). But with Cookidoo, I was suddenly able to plan white fish, lamb, and pork dishes into our fortnightly meal plans, hide oily fish in pates and spreads, sneak tofu into smoothies and avocado in my frozen fruit.

Also,  more surprisingly, has injected the joy back into my kitchen.

Of course, everyone is skeptical at first, I definitely was. I denied myself seeing a demonstration for over 3-years as I didn’t believe my sister-in-law that one kitchen appliance could really do all she claimed it could. For those of you, like me, who had never heard of the Thermomix….it’s basically the Ferrari of kitchen gadgets. This can make light work of everything. Stir, mix, emulsify, chop, blend, grind, cook, heat, steam, weigh, whip, and knead. And I bought my first TM before the digital era came along.

Guided cooking. Thousands of recipes are available via the Cookidoo platform providing endless culinary inspiration. Think of guided cooking as your personal commis chef prompting you with the ingredients to add, how much to add, when to add it, and then doing all the chopping and cooking for you with successful results guaranteed. I mean, yes, please! There are over 60,000 recipes available at your fingertips and every week, in every country this number increases as new collections are added.

It’s a running family joke that when I finally did see a demonstration, I bought on the spot and realised what I had been missing all those years. Within months, I was demonstrating purely because I needed to share this revelation with everyone. This kitchen robot really did transform how I cook, save me time, restore kitchen creativity, and see me turning out nutritious, healthy, no added nasties, tasty new dishes every day.

So 2 weeks into the second lockdown, it is saving me again and I believe there’s no need to struggle when Thermomix is there to rescue us. Coronavirus and lockdown have impacted our daily lives. As we get to the end of the year, there is general fatigue amongst my friends. Most of my friends are already owners but it was funny when the other day when speaking to a friend about her trials and tribulations, the conversation steered towards how much joy her Thermomix gave her. The fact that food gives us the nourishment we need to go on, but can also create lasting memories when we want to entertain or celebrate can be a beautiful thing. The Thermomix is not just for lockdown but for the long-term.

If you would like to find out more, I would love to share my passion with you. Contact me to join in one of my many virtual demonstration and cooking experiences I am doing every week. It could help you, so please do get in touch.

And remember, keep safe, keep going, we will all get through this.

Naming your Thermomix

That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”

Quote from Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

After scouring the web and asking around, it appears that naming your Thermomix is not an uncommon practice. Not only that, but it seems to be considered the perfectly normal thing to do. Your appliance will love its name and serve you more diligently because of its christening with a name. They say, naming your favourite kitchen appliance means that you tend to look after them better as they have been personified, christened with a name.

My Thermomix has only been referred to as my Thermie, hence One Girl and her Thermie, but I feel I need to be more creative.

So, how do you choose your name?

  • Does your Thermomix have a gender? They say that we usually name our inanimate objects female names.
  • Are you choosing a name after a loved one?
  • Or a favorite cartoon character?
  • Does the name explain it’s function? Coming up with a name for your refrigerator can be difficult. It is the cool, tall and always helpful friend that is always willing to share. The nickname that embodies all of these traits is Mr. Freeze. This Batman villain would be proud to know that his name is shared with your fabulous refrigerator/freezer.

A quick scroll online I found some super names for their Thermomix with reasons.

  • “I’ve named my Thermomix….’Diamond’ because diamond’s are a girl’s best friend”
  • Audrey” as in Hepburn, because she’s so glamourous.
  • Speedy Gonzalez, Speedy for short, as everything is done so quickly.
  • Remy, the rat in Ratatoulle that learns anyone can cook.
So my question to all of you out there….have you named your Thermomix and if so, what’s it’s name?
Barfi

Milk Powder Burfi

Burfi (Burfee, Barfi) is a fudge-like milk sweet and often served at Diwali (Deepvali) celebrations. Like fudge, the process of making burfi may seem simple however can be tricky. This Thermomix version takes all the guesswork out.

Traditionally this requires khoya or mawa – milk powder – and some does need sugar syrup. But I always like to take shortcuts and have prepared using milk powder and this does not require you to make any sugar syrup or check for consistency. This method using milk powder makes it quicker and easier with no compromise in taste if you follow the steps exactly as given below.

Thermomix TM6 Polish Class

Thank you for attending the Thermomix Polish class. I hope you enjoyed it. I have always wanted to do language-specific classes with my team, and even though my husband is Polish (hence my surname, Stopa), I have never had a team big enough to pull this off. I’m delighted we finally did.

Now that I have a growing team of Polish Advisors, we are able to host cooking classes for our current and future customer base. It was their first time doing a Cooking Class and I think they did brilliantly, especially since none of them have met in person yet but all of this was done remotely. Magda is my longest-standing Advisor and has been demonstrating for nearly 4 years, whereas Monika joined in April this year and Mariola just last month; both trained during the lockdown.

Here are the Cookidoo recipes the girls demonstrated on Zoom.

I appreciate we sent invitations via email, Facebook, and WhatsApp, so it would be great as a follow-up if you could let me know how else we can help you?

  • Are you a Thermomix Owner already?
  • Which model?
  • Do you already have an Advisor, is it one of my team? I’d be happy to put you in touch with one of my team if you are what we call an orphan customer (i.e. an owner without an Advisor).
  • What other types of class would you like to see us do?

Many customers become Advisors for the love of Thermomix, and we have weekly opportunities to join the Thermomix team. Some join the Thermomix business, like me, for the pure love and passion for sharing Thermomix with anyone who will hear about it. Others join it to start a new business opportunity or add additional income, especially relevant now with job uncertainty and furlough schemes being stopped shortly. Some join to simply reduce the cost of their Thermomix on our Earn and Demonstrate program and stay on.

If you are interested in joining the business as an Advisor, please let me know. Joining our growing Thermomix team has never been easier, with remote training, a loan Thermomix and full support throughout your earn and demonstrate challenge.

Full details about training and the Advisor role, but if you need to fill any gaps in, have a read of my website and have a look at my socials below.  https://onegirlandherthermie.co.uk/become-thermomix-advisor/

If you would like to book a demonstration or find out more, please contact me on Ankita@onegirlandherthermie.co.uk or call/text/ WhatsApp me on 07977 563537.
