Thermomixing with Kids

This is the recording of our Thermomixing with kids class on Saturday 20th February 2021.

As this was primarily a Thermomix Owners Class, we invited our team customer base to cook along with us. Customers didn’t have to make all the recipes, but I highly suggested that they made the pizza and tomato sauce in advance, so they cook along with us. We were joined by our own kids to show how easy it is to cook with a Thermomix even if you are young.

For those who have yet to have a Thermomix TM6 in their kitchen (or kids), don’t worry. My team of Advisors will be ran through each recipe step by step, explaining what we are doing and why you want one of these babies in your kitchen. Join sit back with a  cup of coffee or glass of wine in the comfort of your home, while we showcase the wonders of Thermomix.

I’ll be asking everyone who joins us in the Cook-a-long to upload their photos on social media with the hashtag #onegirlinthemix (@onegirlinthemix) AND #thermomix_east_london (@thermomix_east_london) so we can see your fabulous creations. There may even be a prize for the winning photo ;o)

Do come back to me with feedback on the class, we’d love to hear your comments and also suggestions for future virtual classes. You can do this either by replying to my email, of if you would like to share your feedback publicly, you can do this via this Google link.

Finally, whilst these classes are offered free and to Thermomix customers, during the lockdown, I’m personally asking if you are able to give a donation then please do. I am supporting a charity that helps feeds people. The Trussell Trust has pledged to stop people from going hungry across the country. With more than 1,200 food bank centres across its network, the charity will spend any donations on getting meals to those who need them most right now.  At times like this, I am more aware of those not as fortunate as we may be, so request if you can spare a pound, two or ten, to stop help UK poverty and hunger, then please donate here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/onegirlinthemix

We look forward to seeing you at the next Cooking Class.

If you would like to book a demonstration or find out more, please contact me on Ankita@onegirlandherthermie.co.uk or call/text/ WhatsApp me on 07977 563537.

Rewards and Recognitions

I am very proud to work for a company, that not only allows me to conduct this business around my family life and career but also gives rewards and recognitions, to their sales force on the ground.

We recently had our annual (virtual) conference and I was awarded the following accolades:

Consistency Award

The consistency award recognises one sale a month over a period of time. This award was launched 3-years ago, so I’ve been marked as someone who has been consistent for over 36-months.

As an Advisor and Team Leader, it’s one I strive for myself and also encourage my entire team to achieve.

Someone who is consistent always behaves in the same way has the same attitudes towards people or things or achieves the same level of success in something. One sale a month means that the business is viable and the time we take investing in our business activity reaps rewards.

As a Team Leader, I need to make 3 sales to keep my Team Leader status, but what I try and set my team is the aspirational goal of one sale as the first step each month to their business.

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.

Tony Robbins

Diamond Team Leader

Diamond status was also launched 3-years ago, and I’m delighted to keep my diamond status this year.  Diamond status Advisors enjoy a higher income plan when they achieve 70+ sales in a calendar year from January-December.

When initially launched in September 2018 for the following year, I made my 70th sale on 31st December 2018, by the skin of my teeth. In 2019, I achieve 70 sales by October and last year by August.

I can see my own success mirrored by other Advisors in the UK as Thermomix awareness grows in the UK. In the first year, only 15 UK Advisors achieved diamond status. This went up to 85 the following year and 150 in 2020.

I have been in this business since 2009, when hardly anyone in the UK had heard of Thermomix and when there were so few Advisors on the ground, we were just known by our names. As the years have gone by, this hobby has turned into a passion into a viable business. I have seen 2 new Thermomix launched;  the Thermomix TM5 and TM6 and accessories such as the Thermomix Friend released. I have seen our company grow from a small, family-run subsidiary to being 100% owned subsidiary of Vorwerk with 16 branch offices and over 2,000 Advisors.

And yet, there’s more to come. Lots more for Thermomix and Vorwerk in the UK to strive for. We only have 1% awareness in the UK, so you can imagine even if we double, triple, quadruple over business over the next 3-5 years, there’s a whole load of customers still to reach.

Level 6 Achiever Award

And finally, I achieved the Level 6 Achiever Award for 500 sales and 20 recruits. This level was started way back in September 2014 when the Thermomix TM5 was launched, so that is 500 sales of both Thermomix TM5 and Thermomix TM6s, plus 20 qualified, new recruits to the business.

I’m most proud of this recruitment record. That means I have personally helped twenty people into this business, giving them the opportunity to earn their own Thermomix by enrolling in the earn and demonstrate program. Many of these Advisors have gone on to earn their Thermomix TM5 with 4 sales and then have a viable business; many went onto earn their Thermomix TM6s too when that was launched in 2019. It’s a true honour bringing new team members into the business and showing them that the sky is the limit. As self-employed Thermomix Advisors, we don’t have any minimum job criteria such as in a degree or minimum GCSE or A-Level requirements, 1-2 years of sales experience, or language pre-requisites. All we ask is that the person, male or female is aged over 18-years old and puts in time and effort into their Thermomix business. We provide the training and support and then the sky is the limit.

To end this post, with a final thank you. To you. My customers. My potential customers. My referrals. None of this would be possible with all of you amazing customers. Thank you.

You are the heart and soul of my business. Simply speaking, there would be no me without you. Your loyalty means everything to me. Thank you for being a customer!

Thermomix and Thermomix Friend

Why it’s important to buy a Thermomix through an Advisor

Since the lockdown, one is able to purchase a Thermomix TM6 (not the customer offers) online via the Thermomix website. However, I do not recommend this. It is important to buy a Thermomix through an Advisor. This article gives you all the reasons why.

You as a customer pay the same price. You are financially the same whether you buy online or via an Advisor BUT the benefits buying via the Advisor network outweigh an online purchase.

Why buying through an Advisor is beneficial to you?

  1. We are historically and continue to be a direct sales channel. I’m sure we all remember well-established door-to-door companies like Avon or Amway. Well, Vorwerk is a direct sales company too and the third-largest in the world. A direct sales approach to marketing and distribution means that when you enquire about a Thermomix, attend a demonstration or buy a Thermomix by an Advisor, you are treated like a king (or queen). Thermomix Advisors are all self-employed and running our businesses to the best of our ability. Each enquiry means the world to us. It’s our name, our reputation, and long-term business at stake so we treat you with respect, honesty, and transparency. I believe customers appreciate that.
  2. Thermomix demonstrations and cooking experiences, which are normally face-to-face but currently virtual are not only important but essential.  Can you imagine walking into a store, looking at a Thermomix on display, and dropping £1000 down? No, you will walk away. A demonstration shows you the full functionality of the Thermomix and how it can be used in your kitchen. It’s personalised to make sure you get the most out of your Thermomix investment.
  3. Even if you are a previous Thermomix owner and know it already, there’s value in seeing a new demonstration. How many times have I heard the fact that one is a Thermomix owner, but only uses it once or twice? The value of being with an Advisor like me is that I regularly host virtual cooking experiences and with my team run cooking classes. Being attached to an Advisor means that you will have access to these events all the time, for the longevity of your ownership. So even if you have a Thermomix TM31 or TM5 and thinking about an upgrade, have a demonstration to understand the reasons why you should or shouldn’t be upgrading. I don’t believe in upselling at all. If you already have a Thermomix and it’s right for you to upgrade, I will tell you that. If it isn’t, I will also advise that.
  4. Thermomix Advisors understand the long-term benefits of owning a Thermomix. Most Thermomix Advisors are owners first and foremost, and then became Advisors or Consultants due to their love & passion for Thermomix and wanting to share it. We understand that most customers have excitement and a honeymoon period when first buying a gadget or appliance, but we also have experience of the long-term relationship with your Thermomix. We speak from experience when we tell you, you should never put your Thermomix away in a closet or cabinet. It should be on your counter-top so you will use it every day. Unlike most other appliances, once you use it daily, you will use it multiple times. The Thermomix is an appliance that usage increases over time.
  5. Post-purchase, your Thermomix Advisor is your first point of contact. This can include anything from helping you set up your Thermomix with a welcome visit, going through some new user hints & tips in a follow-up phone call, hosting a demonstration for your friends and family to ensure you get referral & host incentives. I am here to offer suggestions for your first recipes in a Thermomix to help you menu plan for the week.  I’ve also been called and left voice messages from clients asking if this ‘noise’ sounded normal, only to call them back and be told the recipe was delicious.

Summary

Thermomix Advisors are ready to help you, answer questions from you. You might contact us by phone, email, or  WhatsApp, via our social media accounts, or simply be referred to us via one of our clients. As our Thermomix Businesses are our own businesses, we are also available 24/7 and not restricted to weekday office hours. We do whatever it takes for you to have a positive experience from enquiry to purchase and post-sales follow-up. And because we know that the Thermomix is a lifetime purchase, we are committed to our 5-star service throughout your ownership.

Disclaimer

All Advisor are self-employed. We share with your our time, our experience, our expertise, and our passion for Thermomix. We are not employed on a salary. We only earn commissions when a customer purchases a Thermomix and acknowledges us as their Advisor.  So please, if you have a demonstration, in-person or virtually, then please go back to the Advisor to complete your purchase. If you don’t have an Advisor, then I would be more than happy to look after you.

Our biggest reward isn’t a financial one. It’s a happy Thermomix owner.

Thermomix Friend: Salmon with Potatoes and Creamy Mushroom Sauce

(Strange how out of a 30-minute video – I did speed that’s the thumbnail Youtube automatically chose….I’ll go with it, I did enjoy a little tipple while the Thermomix and Thermomix Friend Did all the hard work).

Thermomix Friend is here! The perfect companion for your Thermomix, Thermomix Friend will halve your cooking efforts but double the ‘wow’ factor! Cook larger portions for big family meals, create different pasta sauces simultaneously for different tastes, or batch cook meals to freeze portions for another day. It’s all made easy with Thermomix Friend.

Here’s a recording of me using the Thermomix Friend for the first time – so yes, I have to connect the two appliances by Bluetooth together and then I cook this mouthwatering, Salmon with Potatoes and Mushroom Cream Sauce from the Thermomix Friend Welcome Booklet.

The results were amazing. My household – read husband and children – were a bit dubious of the combination mushrooms with salmon (they prefer mushrooms with beef) but on the taste test, it was the perfect duo. The tangy, lemony salmon with the creamy mushroom sauce. Absolutely, yum. And yes, what’s better than perfect steamed potatoes as a side dish.

First recipes to make in your Thermomix

So you’ve just purchased your Thermomix and with Cookidoo at your fingertips, here’s my top 5 first recipes to make in your Thermomix in your first few days.

  1. bluebird-provisions-CjmlUpo3eAw-unsplashVegetable Stock Paste  Ever wanted to make your own vegetable stock!? Well, now you can — no hidden ingredients, no additives, just delicious. This makes a great starter for soups, curries, stews, pot pies, and for adding flavour to grains while they cook. Even better, I love to use whatever vegetables are in the bottom of my fridge draw or when you are a seasoned Thermomix user, you will have a bag of vegetable scraps and peelings in the freezer ready to go. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r39219
  2. Banana bread Moist and delicious banana bread recipe. Easy to make, this is the perfect first cake to make in your Thermomix  Ripe bananas, butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, and flour. https://onegirlandherthermie.co.uk/hummingbird-bakery-banana-bread/
  3. Risotto Risotto is a northern Italian rice dish cooked with broth until it reaches a creamy consistency. The broth can be derived from meat, fish, or vegetables. Many types of risotto contain butter, onion, white wine, and parmesan cheese. It is one of the most common ways of cooking rice in Italy. There are hundreds of risotto recipes on Cookidoo but this Courgette and Feta Risotto is among my favourite recipes for two reasons, hiding vegetables in food that my kids would never eat. They dislike courgettes, yet in this recipe  it’s so delicious, that they don’t even know what they are eating. And for adults and parents out there,  this is a winner. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r128889
  4. vita-marija-murenaite-eSeo6IzOV00-unsplashPizza The reason I choose this as it’s another meal that’s super easy in the Thermomix and can be adjusted to all taste buds. Pizza Margherita is a typical Neapolitan pizza, made with San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, salt and extra-virgin olive oil. Everyone loves a staple pizza and if you are more adventurous just add the various toppings you prefer. Everyone is happy. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r39452
  5. Frozen strawberry daiquiri I’ll always remember doing a demonstration to clients who were gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free. I spent most of the demonstration talking about the health benefits of the Thermomix and how it could help their healthy-eating lifestyle. I’ll always remember the first recipe they made, daiquiris. So I include it here a great final choice, why not, it makes a fabulous cocktail too. https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r126704
Whatever you make, I do hope you enjoy your first few days with your latest gadget. Do drop me note to let me know what you’ve been cooking in the comments section below.
Thermomix Almond Milk

Thermomix Cost Saving: Almond Milk

How do you save money with your Thermomix? There are so many ways that owning a Thermomix can help you save you a little or a lot off your weekly grocery bill that I thought I’d share some of my Top Tips!

Let’s discuss almond milk today.

Almond milk is a plant milk manufactured from almonds with a creamy texture and nutty flavor, although some types or brands are flavored in imitation of dairy milk. It is made by grinding almonds, mixing them with water, and then filtering the mixtures to create milk that has a nutty flavour. It’s a great alternative for those who cannot or choose not to drink cow’s milk as well as people who just like drinking alternative milk.

Many commercial varieties are available but it’s best homemade.

Why is almond milk so great?

  1. It is dairy-free Almond milk contains no cow’s milk or other animal products making it a great option for those who are lactose intolerant or following a vegan, plant-based diet.
  2. It is nutritious Almond milk is naturally rich in several vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin E.
  3. It is low in calories. Almond milk is lower in calories than cow’s milk. Some find this fact confusing as almonds are known to be high in calories and fat. However, due to the way almond milk is processed, there is a very small portion of almonds (10% or less) in the final product. It is a great way for people to cut calories and lose weight.
  4. Low in sugar. Making your own almond milk means that it is sugar-free or low sugar. Commercial almond milk contains sugars and artificial sweeteners, so making your own you know the quantity of sugar in it.
  5. It may reduce the risk of heart disease Studies show that regular consumption of nuts is linked to a reduced risk of heart disease. This is partly because they are high in healthful fats.

How do you make almond milk in the Thermomix?

Ingredients:

  • 1000 g water, cold, plus extra for soaking
  • 200 g almonds, whole
  • 1000 g water, cold

Method:

  1. Place a bowl on the mixing bowl lid and weigh in almonds. Cover with water and set aside in the fridge to soak overnight (or for at least 6 hours).
  2. Rinse soaked almonds under running water then drain and place in mixing bowl.
  3. Add 1000 g water and blend 3 min/speed 10. Line simmering basket with a muslin cloth, or use a nut milk bag, then slowly pour the almond mixture through muslin, collecting milk in a bowl below. Reserve almond pulp in muslin (see tip) then transfer almond milk to a glass bottle (1L)

Top tip

  • Keep the almond pulp collected in the muslin. It can be used for making cakes, cereals, ice cream, or smoothies. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze until needed.
  • To prepare the bottle, thoroughly wash the bottle and lid in hot, soapy water. Rinse by pouring over boiling water. Prepare for filling, if needed, by placing on a clean tea towel in a roasting tin and heating in the oven at 100˚C until required.
  • The almond milk will keep in the fridge for 2-3 days. If it separates, shake the bottle to homogenise again.

The cost saving is incredible as you can buy almonds in bulk and simply add water.
