How to purchase a Thermomix®?

Reasons to buy a Thermomix

With our 0% finance extended to 19th April 2021, available for all purchases for Thermomix TM6, I thought I’d give you 12-reasons to invest in a Thermomix this month.

1. To simplify your life (in and out of the kitchen)

Doesn’t it feel good to declutter?!

The Thermomix replaces over 20 of your household appliances. Imagine the space you’ll create in your kitchen cupboards. Have a garage sale or eBay those big items (like the bread maker) that take up a lot of room for the limited time they’re in use! No need for measuring cups with the built-in scales in the Thermomix, or for smaller chopping gadgets that take time to pull apart and clean.

This is actually a picture of my friend and TM customer’s kitchen redesign by Omni Home Designs in Hertfordshire. Isn’t it just beautiful?

2. To save you valuable time in the kitchen.

Chopping, mincing, milling, grinding, stirring, and kneading all done for you!

We all see how life throws certain demands at us and it’s easy to take shortcuts in the things that matter most. Food preparation is one of those things! We choose quick frozen, or takeaway meals because we haven’t got the time to prepare more nutritious food…and quite frankly, convenience is killing us. Then, there’s the time you save cleaning up one seamless, non-porous bowl that helps clean itself! This is the ultimate fast food machine!

3. To eliminate those packaged foods with harmful additives and preservatives.

It allows you to avoid the chemicals in modern processed foods and returns you to the tradition of wholesome home-style cooking using the technology of the future. Make your own delicious nutritious marinades, sauces, butter, condiments like mayonnaise & custard.

This is the ultimate health machine.

4. To save you money in your trolley on many general items. (And on takeaway)

Did you know you could make 1 litre of fresh fruit sorbet for just £2.00? 500ml of Tesco’s Raspberry sorbet costs £2.20, so for the same cost, you can make double.

A good quality bread in the Thermomix will cost you around 50p as to £2-4 in the supermarket
Risotto in the TM is around £5 to make and it serves 5, I have paid up to £18 in a restaurant for a serving for one! These are just a few ways Thermomix saves you money.

5. To save on your energy bill

The Thermomix costs around 15p an hour to run. When I got my Thermomix I reduced the amount of gas I was using with my cooker and my energy bill went down 20%;  now that’s impressive especially since I was suddenly using the oven a whole lot more. We’ve done analysis that cooking a soup is 40% more energy-efficient than doing on the stove-top.

Faster and more efficient, and has no rival on the market. Featuring a gearless motor, Solingen steel blades, and a stainless steel bowl, Thermomix brings a new dimension to food preparation and cooking. The Thermomix is great for families on a budget!

6. Creativity made easy

Beautiful, infinite recipe possibilities with a line up of many books, websites and our very own recipe platform, called Cookidoo. With over 50,000 recipes available at your fingertips and new recipe collections every single week, in every single country, there’s always something new to create.
Cook like a pro with gourmet recipes all made by your Thermomix. The Thermomix gives you the edge!

7. It will reduce your carbon footprint (and your household rubbish)

It’s dreadful the amount of waste the average home creates on a weekly basis. Seeing that many of your meals can be made from basic ingredients such as vegetables, grains, legumes nuts, and seeds, you’ll see a dramatic impact on your household waste. No more juice containers, no more cardboard boxes, less tin cans, and a reduction in plastics; the earth will have you to thank.
The environment is grateful for the Thermomix!

8. It will get the whole family to prepare nutritious meals.

The delight to many of my customers has been, that their family has taken on more meal preparation! Previously, meals in my home were primarily made by me but now with the Thermomix having gone digital and easier to use,  even hubby’s that don’t cook enjoy and appreciate the gadget that ends all gadgets! My kids as young as 8 and 11-years now use the Thermomix guided cooking functions unaided.  The Thermomix brings families together in food preparation.

9. It’s compact and portable, making it the perfect travel companion. Who wants to be spending time cooking while on holidays?

Many of my customers have taken their Thermomix in their campers and away to their holiday homes as an all-in-one appliance that does the lot. You don’t even need saucepans and a kettle. This is the ultimate super kitchen appliance. I regularly take mine on holiday with me and last year, when we went to France, my Thermomix was slipped in the back of the car for our self-catering holiday. Yes, I know a holiday is a time to go out and eat, indulge in local cuisines and I’m all for that. But eating 21-meals in a week’s holiday out can be expensive and sometimes, that quick breakfast of perfectly boiled eggs or no-lump porridge for breakfast, or quick tomato sauce and pasta for little ones who need to eat early is a lifesaver.

10. It puts the enjoyment back into cooking.

The Thermomix does the hard jobs for you like stirring the risotto for 17 minutes while freeing you up to go have a shower, check your emails or just go put your legs up! What about the lump-free bechamel or custard without burning the bottom of the pan…gotta love that! The Thermomix will give you a love for cooking again.

11. To make beautiful homemade inexpensive gifts is just another way to save with the Thermomix. Give a gift that you’ve lovingly prepared and everyone will enjoy.

Make your own Christmas pressies such as Dukka, Lemon butter, Jam, and homemade chocolates!
Thermomix makes gift-giving affordable and gift ideas easy. It’s also much cheaper than buying a hamper.

12. Makes entertaining a breeze!

Whip up dips and salads in just seconds. I use to spend the day in the kitchen preparing a dinner party- not anymore. I can whip up all sorts of delicious recipes in no time from starter to dessert.
Then there are the superb cocktails, and after dinner coffee…oh yes it makes Cappuccinos & Lattes too! Thermomix is being bought by cafes and restaurants all over the world!

*As you can see the investment in initial outlay, is nothing compared to all the things you get back with Thermomix. This is why Thermomix is sold every 2 minutes around the world. In China, during the Covid_19 lockdown, sales of Thermomix went up 80% as people were home.

Why wait when you can buy now, pay later?

Rewards and Recognitions

I am very proud to work for a company, that not only allows me to conduct this business around my family life and career but also gives rewards and recognitions, to their sales force on the ground.

We recently had our annual (virtual) conference and I was awarded the following accolades:

Consistency Award

The consistency award recognises one sale a month over a period of time. This award was launched 3-years ago, so I’ve been marked as someone who has been consistent for over 36-months.

As an Advisor and Team Leader, it’s one I strive for myself and also encourage my entire team to achieve.

Someone who is consistent always behaves in the same way has the same attitudes towards people or things or achieves the same level of success in something. One sale a month means that the business is viable and the time we take investing in our business activity reaps rewards.

As a Team Leader, I need to make 3 sales to keep my Team Leader status, but what I try and set my team is the aspirational goal of one sale as the first step each month to their business.

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.

Tony Robbins

Diamond Team Leader

Diamond status was also launched 3-years ago, and I’m delighted to keep my diamond status this year.  Diamond status Advisors enjoy a higher income plan when they achieve 70+ sales in a calendar year from January-December.

When initially launched in September 2018 for the following year, I made my 70th sale on 31st December 2018, by the skin of my teeth. In 2019, I achieve 70 sales by October and last year by August.

I can see my own success mirrored by other Advisors in the UK as Thermomix awareness grows in the UK. In the first year, only 15 UK Advisors achieved diamond status. This went up to 85 the following year and 150 in 2020.

I have been in this business since 2009, when hardly anyone in the UK had heard of Thermomix and when there were so few Advisors on the ground, we were just known by our names. As the years have gone by, this hobby has turned into a passion into a viable business. I have seen 2 new Thermomix launched;  the Thermomix TM5 and TM6 and accessories such as the Thermomix Friend released. I have seen our company grow from a small, family-run subsidiary to being 100% owned subsidiary of Vorwerk with 16 branch offices and over 2,000 Advisors.

And yet, there’s more to come. Lots more for Thermomix and Vorwerk in the UK to strive for. We only have 1% awareness in the UK, so you can imagine even if we double, triple, quadruple over business over the next 3-5 years, there’s a whole load of customers still to reach.

Level 6 Achiever Award

And finally, I achieved the Level 6 Achiever Award for 500 sales and 20 recruits. This level was started way back in September 2014 when the Thermomix TM5 was launched, so that is 500 sales of both Thermomix TM5 and Thermomix TM6s, plus 20 qualified, new recruits to the business.

I’m most proud of this recruitment record. That means I have personally helped twenty people into this business, giving them the opportunity to earn their own Thermomix by enrolling in the earn and demonstrate program. Many of these Advisors have gone on to earn their Thermomix TM5 with 4 sales and then have a viable business; many went onto earn their Thermomix TM6s too when that was launched in 2019. It’s a true honour bringing new team members into the business and showing them that the sky is the limit. As self-employed Thermomix Advisors, we don’t have any minimum job criteria such as in a degree or minimum GCSE or A-Level requirements, 1-2 years of sales experience, or language pre-requisites. All we ask is that the person, male or female is aged over 18-years old and puts in time and effort into their Thermomix business. We provide the training and support and then the sky is the limit.

To end this post, with a final thank you. To you. My customers. My potential customers. My referrals. None of this would be possible with all of you amazing customers. Thank you.

You are the heart and soul of my business. Simply speaking, there would be no me without you. Your loyalty means everything to me. Thank you for being a customer!

Consistency Awards

VorwerkStars 2019: Consistency Awards

When was the last time you received recognition for your outstanding work? I’m not talking about getting a paycheque, a commission, or even a monthly or quarterly bonus. No, I’m talking about the feeling that your effort is acknowledged, appreciated, and valued. When was the last time your managers or supervisors made you feel like you were doing a great job?

Maybe you’re one of the fortunate few who can honestly say, “I feel that way all the time.” But for most agents or distributors in the direct selling business, recognition is rare. In an industry that’s riddled with retention problems, we believe that has to change. And we believe that well-placed recognition can help to increase retention in direct selling companies.

So I’m delighted to announce that Vorwerk UK has stepped up. I have just returned from Just back from the fabulous VorwerkStars 2019 and 10-years on, this company still surprises and delights me.

In addition to the wonderful awards that they give to recognize top sellers, top teams, top recruiting, etc, I was pleasantly surprised to receive their newest award which is for consistency award, rewarding Advisors and Team Leaders for making one-sale a month in a 12-month period from September 2018-August 2019. We have over 1000 Advisors on file now and only 50 achieved this award; 10 within the East London Branch.

Consistency Awards

Our gift was a Virgin Experience Gift voucher which I plan to use with the family. Yes, there are plenty of gift options that I can pamper myself with or simply choose to take my husband to as a romantic dining experience, but I really value the family support I get and wanted to celebrate them too. Whilst I do try and manage my Thermomix Demonstrations and Cooking Experiences the best I can, with family commitments coming first, there is always the last minute birthday-party invite or football match that crops up that I cannot move a scheduled demonstration for. I have

We have jointly chosen one of the experiences that the four can do, and well, it’s a dining experience at Gordon Ramsay’s Street Pizza. I was outvoted, 3 to 1, so there it is. Family choice.

We’re headed into St Paul’s in the city of London a bottomless pizza feast for four – with 2 hours of sourdough pizza served straight from the woodfired oven. We’ll probably do this post-February 2020 as my eldest is currently studying for her 11+ exams but I think it will be worth the wait.

Virgin Experience

We, humans, have a need for recognition—and you can’t buy recognition with money – but a gift like this that gives me time to spend with my family is hugely appreciated. Once again, I am grateful for a company that recognises this. I’ve received flowers or a box of chocolates before too. It’s the little things that count.

Celebrating consistency

Many companies have a quick start program to reward newcomers. But when a company also rewards its long-standing direct sellers, that’s a company worth staying for. Thank you Vorwerk UK for always going that extra mile, adding the cherry on the cake, so to speak.

Direct sales companies offer programs and incentives to help motivate you and keep you consistent in running your direct sales business. It is important for your success and momentum, especially at the beginning of your business, to set your sights on earning these incentives and programs.

Thermomix, like many other direct sales companies, offer programs within your first 90 days of starting (typically called Fast Start, Quick Start, Fast Track, and so on). The fast-track type program is a great way for you to earn additional products for your kit, gain items for your own personal use, and of course, establish good business habits and patterns. What you start with is what you are likely to continue with. So, if you get your business off to a healthy and successful start by pushing yourself in both sales and recruiting, you will most likely enjoy long-term success.

In our case, the TM4U program establishes our fast start with newcomers earning their Thermomix with just 4 sales in their 90-days. This is an amazing incentive as the first 4 sales, work out to be a free Thermomix worth £1149 and equated to an income of £287.25 per sale. Many who join the business, simply to earn their Thermomix, are delighted with their success so early on and stay in the business long term.

It’s important to familiarise yourself with the quick start program and the exact requirements and qualifications you need to hit to earn it. But when a company also rewards its long-standing direct sellers, that’s a company worth staying for.

I recently received a consistency award for 2019/2020. This is the second year the company has allocated this recognition award. Advisors and Team Leaders are recognized for making at least 1 sale every month over a 12-month period (September 2019-August 2020). Achievers received a beautiful gift set from The White Company; the Lime & Bay Luxury Gift set. In 2018/2019 there were just 50 winners UK wide, and in 2019/2020, this number doubled to 110.

A massive thanks to Vorwerk UK for the generous gift. I do get paid commissions for my monthly sales but these extra gifts are always greatly appreciated.

So it’s why I track my own sales on a YTD spreadsheet and those for my team. I want everyone to feel the joy and fulfillment of receiving some extra too.  It’s like a cherry on the cake. I love what I do and get rewarded well for the sales I achieve, but gifts like this are special and make it even better.

One Girl in the Mix

Vorwerk UK and Vorwerk International have recently changed their social media policy, which means for socials such as Facebook and Instagram, I am no longer able to use the name Thermomix or any abbreviation of Thermomix, such as Thermie within my business name.

This has had a huge impact on the workforce on the ground, who like me have been running their Independent Thermomix. Some of my best friends in the business have been Thermomix Advisors for years with names like ThermieChef to LivingwithmyThermie or Thermbalina. All these will have to be changed in the next few months.

After much deliberation that I have finally worked up the name, “One Girl in the Mix” for both my Facebook and Instagram accounts. It was a resounding yes from all of you that I needed to keep the One Girl in my name, so it was either One Girl and her Journey (detailing my journey with Thermomix…and if you say it fast enough, it sounds like Thermie) or One Girl in the Mix, which is what my Instagram followers voted for. I never thought I’ve ever say that sentence.  I have followers; I have a tribe. Yay!

I’ve managed to get a quick redesign of the logo, so you can now see a little icon that now bridges the two brand names. Yes, it is a picture of me in a Thermoix. Smiling back at you.

This domain will remain unchanged, as will my contact details and other accounts – does anyone even know that I have a YouTube channel? Probably a good thing. But given what’s happening in the world right now (read Coronavirus) I do have plans to revive my YouTube and go live (argh…) to get us through things.

Despite really liking my new social name, it is a huge blow to my business as the name ‘One Girl and her Thermie‘ has been around for longer than most of the staff who make these decisions have worked at Vorwerk UK. It will mean I have to build up the hashtags (#onegirlinthemix) and the audience to get the rankings for the business, which leads many of you to this page.

I’ve been demonstrating Thermomix for more than 10 years now, so in those times have seen the business change from a family run company and Thermomix as a distributor owned by John & Janie Turner to having 3 different Sales Directors under Vorwerk UK as a fully-owned subsidiary of Vorwerk International. With these transitions, we’ve also had countless Marketing hats.  But I am a fan of change, given my marketing expertise (I am Chartered Institute of Marketing qualified), I welcome to see what the new marketing guy has up his sleeve. He certainly has the experience having worked for Tupperware before so hopefully has a grasp of dealing with distributors and business partners with a sales force of over 40,000.  Let’s hope with having worked with a much larger remote workforce, he’ll have the energy and the patience to grow our Thermomix in the UK, raising consumer brand awareness through recruitment.

I go back to my marketing training. Bruce Tuckman, an educational psychologist, identified a five-stage development process that most teams follow to become high performing. He called the stages: formingstormingnormingperforming, and adjourning. Team progress through the stages is shown in the following diagram.

Let’s hope the storming stage which this hiccup in the social media strategy has had will be on the upward curve soon, so we can get back to the performing stage.

So whichever social you follow, please do leave a comment. Or when you are cooking and posting yourself, hashtag me so I can see what you’ve been making. All of this will help the algorithms do their thing.

Stay well and keep cooking up a storm, Ankita
