Vorwerk celebrates its 140th Birthday this year and has introduced the Thermomix TM6 limited edition: in sparkling black diamond!

The LIMITED EDITION Thermomix Diamond Black TM6 is available for sale in the UK today.

Christmas Gifting – Mince pies

Christmas is around the corner and homemade Christmas gifts are a great cost-saving and a way to show you care. Here’s a recipe for Mince Pies made in the Thermomix and the cost saving you can have compared to buying it.

Ingredients

340 g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
75 g unsalted butter, cold, diced
75 g lard, cold, diced
1 pinch fine sea salt
60 g water, ice cold

400 g mincemeat, gluten free (see tip)
milk, for brushing
icing sugar, for dusting

Preparation

Shortcrust Pastry

Place flour, butter, lard and salt in mixing bowl then mix Turbo/1 sec/4 times.
Add water and mix 20-30 sec/speed 4 until just clinging together. Tip out and bring together into a ball then wrap in reusable wrap or cling film and chill in fridge for 30 minutes.

Assembly and Baking

After this time, preheat oven to 190°C.
On a lightly-floured surface, roll out rested pastry to 3 mm thick. Cut out 24 circles using a pastry cutter (Ø 7 cm) and use to line 2 x 12 hole bun tins. Re-roll any trimmings then cut out 24 pastry lids using star-shaped, tree-shaped or round fluted (Ø 6.5 cm) cutters.
Place 1 tsp mincemeat in each pastry base then cover with a lid, sealing with a brush of milk if using round lids. Brush tops of lids with milk then bake for 18-20 minutes (190°C) until cooked and golden.
Leave in tin to cool for 2 minutes then transfer to a wire rack. Dust with icing sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.

Hints & Tips

Homemade mince pies are a joy to make when you have a Thermomix®. Prepare the mincemeat weeks before you need it, then whip up a batch of crisp, buttery shortcrust pastry in seconds. All that’s left is the fun part; making the pies!

Is there a Thermomix Black Friday offer?

Wow, how many times have I been asked if there is a Thermomix Black Friday offer this month. Too many times to mention.

Black Friday is the term for the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, marking the start of the Christmas shopping season. Many employers (in the US) give their employees the day off as part of the Thanksgiving weekend.

Historians believe the name started in Philadelphia in the mid-1960s. Bus drivers and police used ‘Black Friday’ to describe the heavy traffic that would clog the streets the day after Thanksgiving as shoppers headed to the stores that day. The name has stuck ever since.

How did customers in the UK get so wrapped up in an American tradition? A few years ago, I guess. Many countries that support consumerism have jumped on the bandwagon and started Black Friday sales too, currently of the world’s 195 countries an estimated 40-50% ‘celebrate’ Black Friday in some form or the other. In the United Kingdom, we started adopting this 6-7 years ago and I remember the day. I remember how shoppers tuned violent and created stampedes on the news over TVs and sofas.

But with online shopping and a pandemic, shipping delays and petrol shortages, haven’t you realised that there have been offers at all retailers for the whole year? Consumers are waiting for Black Friday weekend offers, but I have seen ‘Early Black Friday’ deals to entice you to spend your Black Friday cash. And where is the Thermomix Black Friday offer, everyone is waiting for?

Vorwerk sells Thermomix via direct sales model, through Advisors. Since COVID we have also started selling online but we do not offer discounts on Thermomix TM6 ever, although occasionally we have head office customer offers. There is one thing I can tell you; we never reduce the price of the Thermomix. We value our product too much to discount it.

TM6 Bundle In November 2020, we did have a Black Friday deal, Vorwerk UK had a bundle of the Thermomix TM6/ Thermomix TM5 for £1599. So our Thermomix TM6 remained at £1149 with the Thermomix TM5 costing £450. The Thermomix TM5 was only sold for a 2-week period and was never available on its own. We only ever sell the latest and current model. I’ll be honest, we had TM5s lying around in the warehouse and we wanted to sell them on and this was a good time to do it. Vorwerk got rid of their stock and many, many customers took advantage of our class digital model at a substantial reduced price. As soon as the Black Friday offer was over, it was over.

But this was last year. Let me repeat this. We had stock of Thermomix TM5s and we needed to get rid of them. The model was already was discontinued and now 18 months old, so this was a way to get rid of stock. It was a fabulous deal for anyone wanting the latest model and a spare, to keep one for yourselves and give them other one to a friend or famuly member. Or even to keep both yourselves, one for your main home and another for your holiday property. There were many reasons why this deal was so great and why we sold so many, it was indeed a superb offer for both the consumer and the company. Customers got an excellent deal and we emptied our warehouses of old stock.

So what’s the deal this year, in 2021? I’ll be honest, I don’t know. The head office has already released November 2021 offers which are Thermomix-Kobold bundles; full details are listed here.

For Black Friday 2021, I can only compare the other offers to Black Friday 2020 as a guide:

So I hope this helps clarify some of the anxiety I am hearing on the ground, and also the benefit of why buying through an Advisor is so important. We are not just selling you a product, but delivering you a service than can’t be found online. There are too many scammers out there trying to dwindle your hard earned cash with the lure of a discounted Thermomix. Don’t get sucked in.

I always believe that the Thermomix is the real deal, and anything else is just extra, but for completeness and transparency, here are the Thermomix offers for 2021 Q3 from July to September.

July 2021:
