Struggling to Book Demos? Try These 10 Simple Tips!

Starting out as a Thermomix Advisor is exciting, but it can feel frustrating when you’re struggling to get those first demonstrations booked. The good news? You’re not alone! Most successful Advisors have been exactly where you are. The trick is to keep it simple, make it fun, and take the pressure off the sale.

Here are 10 easy ways to get your demo calendar filled:

1️⃣ Ask for Support, Not Sales

People love to help! Instead of asking if they want to buy a Thermomix, say:
“I need to complete 10 practice demos in the next three weeks—would you be one of my guinea pigs?”
Offer to cook them a meal and gift them a thank-you voucher. It’s hard to say no to that!

2️⃣ Host Your Own “Come Dine With Me” Night

Invite a few friends over for a casual Thermomix dinner party. Show them how easy it is to whip up a meal, and they’ll naturally want to see more! No pressure, just fun.

3️⃣ Offer a “Mum’s Night In” or Coffee Morning

Busy parents love the idea of quick, nutritious meals. Invite school mums over for coffee, cake, and a chat—and let the Thermomix do the rest!

4️⃣ Team Up with a Friend

Do you have a friend who loves hosting? Ask them to invite a few friends over while you cook for them. Offer them a small thank-you gift for hosting.

5️⃣ Make it About THEM

Instead of “Do you want a demo?” ask:
“What’s the one thing you hate cooking?”
Then offer to show them a Thermomix shortcut—they’ll be intrigued!

6️⃣ Think Outside the Box

Try hosting a theme night:
Pizza & Prosecco
Wine & Dine with Thermomix
Festive Feasts & Treats (seasonal themes work brilliantly!)

7️⃣ Take Advantage of Social Media

Post what you’re cooking in your stories and reels. A quick video of fresh bread, homemade nut butter, or 30-second chopping will spark curiosity!

8️⃣ Be Where Foodies Are

Chat to local bakers, personal trainers, parents, or food lovers. Offer to show them something that makes their life easier (like healthy meals in minutes or perfect pastry at home!).

9️⃣ Use Your Own Kitchen as a Demo Hub

No one wants to host? No problem! Run weekly kitchen demos at your place and invite people over for a meal.

Follow Up & Keep It Fun!

If someone said “maybe,” follow up with a friendly:
“I’m still looking for a few ‘practice’ guests—shall we book a date and I’ll cook you lunch?”
People forget, so remind them in a fun, no-pressure way!

The Key? Just Start!
The more demos you do, the more confidence you’ll gain. Make it fun, focus on the experience, and the bookings (and sales!) will naturally follow.

So, who’s your first guinea pig? Drop them a message now!

Turning your passion into a business

I love to cook and eat, everything from dining to street food, so when this business opportunity of demonstrating Thermomix whilst on mat leave came up, I jumped at it. I had time on my hands and I had time. It’s just a bit on the side, right? I’d only do it for a few months before I went back to work, right? 14 years later, I’m still here and still loving it. I’ve just been awarded Level 7 achievement, only 3 of us have this. To share it with such fabulous women Annita de Chanterac and Iwona Przebinda is an absolute honour.

My hobby and passion have turned into a business.

At our national conference in Glasgow this month, where we celebrated dreaming and goals. If you asked me all those years ago if I would be on stage as one of the top Advisors & Team Leaders in the country I’d have laughed and fallen on the floor. It’s just a kitchen appliance, isn’t it? How wrong people can be. But this dream is real. I am feeling very blessed and wanted to share my story.

For me, it’s still a part-time business which suits my lecturing career, family life, and other business interests. But it doesn’t have to be like this. I have introduced this business opportunity to so many people in the industry that several Branch Managers and even our current Sales Director were Advisors in my team. If you want to turn this passion into a fully-fledged corporate career you can. My team consists of a mixed group, age, race, and gender. We have stay-at-mums who are looking to demonstrate during school hours, we have retired teachers who still want to make the most out of their life. We have those who work full-time as cabin crew but still manage to demonstrate when they are on the ground and in the country. We have osteopaths and nurses, chemical engineers and management accountants, florists, and interior designers, all passionate about Thermomix so demonstrate in addition to their main careers. Being London-based, we are a true melting pot and representative of our capital city. We have British, English, Irish,  Indians, Italian, Lithuanians, Polish, and Romanians, so we cover all types of cultures and cuisines.

My 2023 goal is to grow my tribe. I love what I do and am refocusing on my team, to have more fun, as I want to bring some more friends on this ride with me!!

And my customers, let’s get cooking! I have a fire in my belly for more cooking experiences and just showing more people what this magic machine can do.

But firstly – thank you if you’ve read this far LOL, thank you for supporting and encouraging me. They say if you enjoy your work, you’ll never work a day in your life. I’d love to have some pals join me this year, so if you’re curious let me know ????

Hello from Ankita

If you’re new to my blog and website, then hello!

Hello! My name is Ankita Stopa and I am passionate about helping people cook more healthy and creative food. Life is busy enough and anything that can help us save time and money is something we all need in our lives using my trusted kitchen appliance, Thermomix.

I’m often asked who my customer avatar is for Thermomix. Love cooking? Hate cooking? Bored of repetitive menus? Someone with kids? Time poor? Allergies? Well, the answer is anyone who eats.

So do join me on my journey. I’m not just on socials. Get in touch if you’d like to see a demonstration either face-to-face or virtually, thinking of buying one for yourself or a gift, or even already have one but need some more inspiration. My team and I have planned, at least one virtual cooking class a month, for our network of clients so watch out for the next class soon. Additionally, we are looking for 2 new members to join us this month as Advisor, with options of the Owners program (if you already have one) or earn and demonstrate if you don’t have the current model.

Please contact me for more information.
