Turning your passion into a business
I love to cook and eat, everything from dining to street food, so when this business opportunity of demonstrating Thermomix whilst on mat leave came up, I jumped at it. I had time on my hands and I had time. It’s just a bit on the side, right? I’d only do it for a few months before I went back to work, right? 14 years later, I’m still here and still loving it. I’ve just been awarded Level 7 achievement, only 3 of us have this. To share it with such fabulous women Annita de Chanterac and Iwona Przebinda is an absolute honour.
My hobby and passion have turned into a business.
At our national conference in Glasgow this month, where we celebrated dreaming and goals. If you asked me all those years ago if I would be on stage as one of the top Advisors & Team Leaders in the country I’d have laughed and fallen on the floor. It’s just a kitchen appliance, isn’t it? How wrong people can be. But this dream is real. I am feeling very blessed and wanted to share my story.
For me, it’s still a part-time business which suits my lecturing career, family life, and other business interests. But it doesn’t have to be like this. I have introduced this business opportunity to so many people in the industry that several Branch Managers and even our current Sales Director were Advisors in my team. If you want to turn this passion into a fully-fledged corporate career you can. My team consists of a mixed group, age, race, and gender. We have stay-at-mums who are looking to demonstrate during school hours, we have retired teachers who still want to make the most out of their life. We have those who work full-time as cabin crew but still manage to demonstrate when they are on the ground and in the country. We have osteopaths and nurses, chemical engineers and management accountants, florists, and interior designers, all passionate about Thermomix so demonstrate in addition to their main careers. Being London-based, we are a true melting pot and representative of our capital city. We have British, English, Irish, Indians, Italian, Lithuanians, Polish, and Romanians, so we cover all types of cultures and cuisines.
My 2023 goal is to grow my tribe. I love what I do and am refocusing on my team, to have more fun, as I want to bring some more friends on this ride with me!!
And my customers, let’s get cooking! I have a fire in my belly for more cooking experiences and just showing more people what this magic machine can do.
But firstly – thank you if you’ve read this far LOL, thank you for supporting and encouraging me. They say if you enjoy your work, you’ll never work a day in your life. I’d love to have some pals join me this year, so if you’re curious let me know ????
